What are minimum system requirements to install the program BUDS?

  - 486 processor or higher (Pentium recommended).
  - Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  - 4 Mb of RAM (16 Mb (or higher) recommended).
  - 10 Mb of hard disk space (compact).
  - CD ROM disk drive. (optional)
  - VGA or higher resolution display (SVGA).
  - Mouse or other pointing device.
  - One unused USB port.

My license has expired, how do I get a new one?

You can renew your license there. All you need is serial number of your MPI device.

I have already bought a license, can I upgrade it to better one?

You can contact us and we will make a reasonable deal. Price depends on the remaining time and the type of your current license.

What is the difference between B.U.D.S. and B.U.D.S. 2?

The main difference is in compatibility with newer models.

B.U.D.S. supports  models produced between:

  • Watercrafts, 2006-2015,
  • Snowmobiles,SSV and Roadsters, 2006-2016,
  • ATVs, 2006-2017.

B.U.D.S. 2 supports newer models:

  • Watercrafts, 2016 and newer,
  • Snowmobiles,SSV and Roadsters, 2017 and newer,
  • ATVs, 2018 and newer.

Keep in mind that B.U.D.S. 2 does NOT support older versions!

How long does it take to receive license to email, after the purchase?

Usually in 2-3 hours.

I've bought a B.U.D.S. license. When I try to enter it I get a message that it has expired. What can I do?

This probably happened because you haven't entered the code in 24 hours. After that time expires, you need to download BUDSRegistration tool from http://www.powersports-diag.com/BUDSRegistration.exe and enter in the license key.

What does B.U.D.S. Powerpack do?

Powerpack is used for diagnosing Rotax engines in boats of other brands.

In which languages is the software

Both versions are available in different languages().

Does the B.U.D.S.2/ B.U.D.S. software work on the MacOs software?

No, it only works on Windows OS

Does it work with 2-stroke engines?

It can work with 2-stroke engines if you connect Post Interface(S29036019) between MPI device and vehicle. However, Post Interface has been out of production for a while. That's the reason that it isn't available in our store.

What is the difference between All Dealer/Dealer Technician and Megatech/Mechatronic Expert?

First of all, All dealer and Megatech licenses are used for B.U.D.S.. Dealer Technician and Mechatronic Expert are used for B.U.D.S. 2.

Both Megatech and Mechatronic Expert licenses are more advanced. They offer:

Changing of the VIN number, MODEL number
Advanced settings
View stories in hours, rather than percentage
Enabling / Disabling DESS
Change the key type without reprogramming (normal, learning, rental)
Clear the history of the blocks ECM, MPEM (history of substitutions)
Cleaning ECM, MPEM, CLUSTER "as new" (resetting the hours to zero and miles/kilometers)

Is it capable of rewriting fuel mapping?

It can only rewrite fuel mappings on E-tec engines (SkiDoo/Lynx).

Communication error on a 2016 Chaparral with a single BRP powerpack ACE engine Normal 0 false false false X-NONE X-NONE . . .

The Chaparral dash display is causing communication errors with the BRP software.

  • Step 1: Confirm the technician is receiving a "Communication Error"  this is usually associated with the KW-2000 com number switching randomly between 1, 2, 3, 2, 3 etc...
  • Step 2: Exit the BRP program and turn OFF ignition key.
  • Step 3: Access behind dash and unplug the center connector on the Dash Display.
  • Step 4: Turn on ignition (Dash Display should not come on)
  • Step 5: Open BRP Powerpack software and all functions should be restored.
